LED Footway Lighting Renewal

The council has successfully replaced or upgraded all its footpath lights, 520 of them, at a cost of £190,000. Not only were the old lights expensive to run and maintain but they were also coming to the end of their useful lives.

The new warm-white lanterns from Bicester-based ZETA use just 16 watts , compared to the old 84 watt yellow sodium lights, and will quickly repay an interest-free loan from SALIX, a government aided scheme to help reduce carbon emissions.

Also as part of the project we replaced 173 aluminium columns that were corroding internally and 102 iron brackets with galvanised steel columns.
