Refuse Collections

“Service Update – Monday 5th March

No collections took place on Friday due to the further snowfall and the conditions of roads and pavements.

The decision to suspend Food and Garden Waste services for this week for Chiltern and Wycombe, was taken.

Those vehicles/crews will be used to collect refuse and recycling that was dropped on Thursday and Friday. That work will commence from today, Monday 5th March and is anticipated to take 3-4 days to complete. If this can be completed sooner, we may be in a position to resume collections of Garden and Food waste due next week.

Work scheduled next week will continue as planned throughout the week (refuse/food and recycling only) – unless there is further disruption, which is not expected.

Advice to residents

Service for the week commencing Monday 5th March has resumed as normal. If your collection is due this week, please ensure your containers are presented as normal on your scheduled collection day.

Garden waste

Please be advised that no garden waste collections will be taking place this week. This also includes any garden waste that was missed last Thursday and Friday.

If this is your recycling collection week your food waste collection has been suspended. Your recycling will be collected as normal. Please refer to your calendar for details of your next scheduled collection – http://www.chiltern.gov.uk/collectioncalendars

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. It is necessary to use these vehicles and crews to help collect rubbish and recycling that was dropped on Thursday and Friday last week, due to the adverse weather.

Collections pending from Thursday and Friday last week

Plans are now in place to resume collections that were suspended on Thursday and Friday last week, following the snow.

• Rubbish collections are being prioritised. Collections have started today, to complete those areas missed last week. Please leave your bin/sacks and food waste bin out ready for collection.
• Once the rubbish has been collected the recycling collections for those affected areas will follow. Our advice is to again leave those containers out ready for collection – blue bin/blue bag and paper box (no food waste will be collected)
• Garden waste will not be collected this week

Normal Collections for this week

• If this week would normally be your rubbish collection then you can expect your food waste to be collected.
• If this week would normally be your recycling collection week your food waste will not be collected Please refer to your calendar for details of your next scheduled collection – http://www.chiltern.gov.uk/collectioncalendars
• Garden waste will not be collected this week

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience and understanding during this period of inclement weather.
